The main feature of this drum is a thick, 27-ply beech shell with 28 mms thickness supplying an extra 'fat' and beefy sound. It has lots of volume, depth and at the same time a very transparent tone. An excellent choice for funk, fusion, jungle or electronic beats. Brass plated fittings and a high gloss lacquer finish make this model a real beauty.

This is my custom Roland V-Drum setup in my favourite colour ... purple. The V-Pads™ on this kit are based on a revolutionary mesh drum head design which, with their rubber-coated rims, produce pads which are responsive and sensitive - it's almost like playing acoustic drums (you can even use brushes!) but you have the added option of silence when you need it (no excuse not to practice late at night!!!). Also, the CY-12R/C V-Cymbal (ride) offers three-way triggering (edge/bow/bell). This is a great kit loaded with options - I'll be using this kit in all my recording session work, tuition and it is perfect for reproducing techno, dance and k-pop sounds LIVE in Seoul!

The doumbek (a.k.a. tabla, darbuka, amongst a myriad of various spellings ...) is a goblet shaped hand drum which features predominately in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean music. This drum lends itself well to unplugged, accoustic events. Tony currently uses the two drums below.
